Who dumped $1.3 million down the drain?

Remember the ‘Henderson Streets for People’ trial four years ago? Know what it cost?

$1.3 million.

Who approved this scheme? Who misused our rates?

It was the Henderson-Massey Local Board. And which board members had voted ‘Yes’?

We asked Google! And we found this link on the Auckland council site. Go on click this link.

It says: Ingrid Papau and Brooke Loader of Henderson-Massey Local Board are strong supporters of the project to improve the Henderson town centre to make it more welcoming and safer to travel through.”

Really? Is that why thousands opposed the project and took to the same streets to protest? Check the records. What role did Board Chairman Chris Carter play?

We don’t ask and no one tells?

Now they are all seeking your vote to get re-elected. By choosing the wrong people we dumped $1.3 million of our own rates down the drain. Don’t make that mistake again. If you do not want more speed humps, do not want more cycleways, do not want $2m disco toilets (like they did in Wellington) and don’t want your parking taken away, do vote and vote wisely
